Unique curved design with no frame on top edge.

I hand build each frame and glue the canvas to a curved frame. It sweeps inward at the top creating a visual effect that draws the viewer’s eyes up and into the tree branches as they dissolve into the ceiling (sky).

To my knowledge, no other artist have ever done this. It’s unique.

You’ll be “wowed.”

The curvature in the paintings is most noticeable when the paintings are viewed from the side. The top takes a fairly pronounced inward curve.

If you look closely, you’ll see that there are actually two curves. First, a slow gradual one that curves from the center outward toward the bottom edge. Secondly, and much easier to see, is the more extreme curve from the center inward to the top edge. You’ll also notice that there is no frame on this upper part of the canvas. The top edge disappears into the ceiling.

When they first view one of the Treescape paintings, viewers rarely notice the curves. They walk up to within six or seven feet, and then unconsciously look up and tilt their heads back and say “wow.” The curves in the canvas duplicate how the human eye focuses as it moves from the ground to the sky in nature. This pattern occurs naturally when we walk into a timber full of tall trees.
